ANIHAN concludes visits to 40 public high schools

By 12 March 2008, Anihan concludes its round of visits to a total of 40 public high schools and some private high schools in the provinces of Laguna and Batangas. Every year, members of the Anihan faculty personally go to these or more schools to inform the graduating high school students of the many possibilities that await them after high school, beginning with the chance to qualify for the free education and skills training provided by Anihan in the food service industry.

More often than not, scholarships are granted to those who graduate from high school with honors. Anihan gives a chance to the average high school graduate whose talents may not lie in high intellectual capacities but in their aptitude for skills and in good attitudes like being industrious, resourceful and determined to help themselves and their families out of poverty. With a scholarship from Anihan, they can undergo two years of training in competencies required for Commercial Cooking, Food & Beverage Services, and Baking/Pastry Production. Anihan graduates obtain a National Certificate-II for each of these qualifications.

Lauro Dizon Memorial NHS, Eduardo Barretto Senior NHS, Kapayapaan NHS, Liceo de los Banos NHS, Looc NHS, Luyos NHS, Mabini HS (Balele and Janopol branches), Majada-In NHS, Makiling NHS, Malaking Pulo NHS, Masaya NHS, Natatas NHS, Palo Alto NHS, Punta NHS, Pres. Jose P Laurel NHS, San Cristobal NHS, San Jose NHS, Sta Clara NHS, Sta Rosa Educational Institution, Tinurik NHS, Tiyani NHS, Wawa NHS.

Application and entrance examination for the Anihan scholarship are free of charge. Applicants can come on Mondays to Fridays, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Admissions are open until the first week of June 2008.
