Anihan Christmas Carols

What started as Melody Cayabyab's generous offer to help organize a students' choir for a fund-raising caroling this season turned out to be quite a wonderful surprise for all concerned.

The choir truly gave each of the homes they visited Christmas warmth and optimism as they sang several of Bukas Palad's beautiful Filipino Christmas songs, Ryan Cayabyab's "Ngiti Lang", and a medley of well-loved English carols.

Anihan is deeply grateful to Melody Cayabyab for lovingly and patiently training the students; to the Anihan Patrons and Friends (Mameng Manabat and Cely Totanes, Tang de Villa, Elvie Galicia, and Ping Pineda) who efficiently organized the caroling in their respective venues (Binan, Sta Rosa, San Pablo, and Alabang); and, to all the generous donors-you are helping so much in making financially challenged young women's dream to study come true!

To the choir members-Joan, Janeth, Chrizzie, Abby, Steph, Mardhe, Ivy, Kae, Celline, Olydhel, and Lorraine-and to the choirmaster's assistant-Cassie-Anihan is proud of you!

Anihan Graduate says Thank You

An Anihan 2007 graduate says why she's thankful to her alma mater:

I am Raquel Salvador-Regio, a graduate of Anihan Technical School in April 2007.

I’m very thankful to Anihan, I learned a lot of things here. First, how to deal with others. Second, how to apply in everyday life what I had learned. Lastly, I learned to become closer to God.

I’m very, very thankful talaga to Anihan because I was given an opportunity to study in this kind of school. Because of Anihan, narating ko kung ano ako ngayon. As a fresh graduate, OJT experiences lang ang pinanghawakan ko. I trained first in Mt Malarayat Golf and Country Club, then in Canlubang Golf and Country Club. Afterwards, I was employed in Canlubang Golf as a pantry woman and food dispatcher.

Dati’y wala akong alam sa kusina but now everything’s changed because now kitchen is my daily routine.

...Now I’m an Assistant Cook and at the same time a Cost Controller in Riverview Resort and Conference Center in Calamba City.
