Anihan's 2012 Graduating Class Achieves 100% Passing Rate in TESDA Assessments

Updated on 4 April 2012

One hundred percent of the 2012 graduating class of Anihan scholars have just successfully passed the TESDA NC II Full Qualification Assessment in Bread and Pastry Production on 29-30 March and 3 April.

Previously, they also achieved a 100 percent passing rate in both Full Qualifications in Commercial Cooking NC II and in Food and Beverage Services NC II.

Anihan's two-year free-tuition culinary scholarship program offers financially challenged young women the opportunity to receive high quality skills training complemented by subjects in entrepreneurship, livelihood skills, and general education. Anihan graduates are thus highly employable after graduation. In fact, most of the 2012 graduating students have already been hired by their OJT venues even if their graduation will take place on April 13 yet.

OJT and employment venues for this batch include Classic Savory, Cupcakes by Sonja, Hans Gourmet, Mer-Nel's Place, Red Ribbon Bakeshop, Tagaytay Highlands, Taal Vista Hotel, The Palms Country Club.

To continue granting free-tuition scholarships, Anihan relies on sales of baked goodies and pickled items produced by its Livelihood Center as well as from donations and grants solicited from individuals, companies, and other institutions with the help of the Anihan Patrons, a small group of women volunteers.

The NC II Assessments of Anihan's 2012 graduating batch were all sponsored by AusAID - PACAP (Australian Aid - Philippines-Australia Community Assistance Program).

For June 2012, Anihan will be taking in 60-70 new scholars. Click for admission details.
